Grid connected systems

The grid connect system allows the user to exploit both the available renewable energy sources as well as the benefits of the standard electrical grid and eliminating the expense of electricity storage devices.

The grid connect system has the following key features:

  1. A unique grid tie inverter is used to synchronize the varying voltage from renewable resources to a stable grid supply.
  2. Sophisticated algorithms ensure that the renewable energy generated is optimally used.
  3. The grid tie inverter ensures network safety even if the grid fails or becomes unstable.
  4. The ability to feed back excess energy into the grid.
  5. The grid connect system can also be connected to a battery back-up in the case that the grid itself fails and operates as a back-up system.

The grid connect system has a wide range of potential uses from:

  • providing the ability to exploit renewable energy as opposed to traditional grid energy for lighting and appliances
  • to provide renewable energy for back-up systems, especially where grid electricity is unstable

The grid connection system is currently being used to provide energy to households, back-up to computer systems, supplement power to corporate head offices and provide support to rural schools.

Off-Grid systems solutions

Where an electricity provider is not available or avoided, the off-grid solution provides
the ability to generate reliable power, reduce cost and minimize inconvenience.

The off-grid solution has 3 elements:

  1. Power generation through the unique wind turbine and combined in hybrid systems with a solar panel.
  2. A battery bank used to store electricity for periods of lower power generation.
  3. A power management system which protects and manages the devices while providing stable electricity as required.

These systems have recommended maintenance guides and a service team is available to assist with installations and any concerns.

The off-grid solution provides energy solutions from stand alone household lighting to off-grid power for rural communities.

Wind turbine options range from 600w, 800w, 1kW and 3kW systems. It is also available with maximum power point tracking charge controllers (MPPT).

Telecommunications Systems

Eveready-Kestrel Telecommunications systems use a multiple power source hybrid solution to create energy efficient autonomous base stations.

Combining the best option power generation capabilities of wind, solar and diesel the Eveready-Kestrel multiple power source hybrid system has the following key advantages:

  • Significantly reduce the reliance on diesel and its associated storage and transport cost.
  • Increased reliability and maximum efficiency.
  • A comprehensive, intelligent control system, (the patented Kestrel voltage limiter) which allows compatibility between wind turbines and solar systems.
  • The unique Kestrel wind turbine technology with the following advantages over other wind turbines, which maximizes output in all wind regimes:
    • The passive, patented pitch control which eliminates wind turbine over speeding without cut out.
    • An aerofoil blade system which enhances energy capture.
    • Industry leading low wind performance and cut-in wind speed.
    • Axial flux technology for better generator thermal management and output.

Water pumping solution

The water pumping solution is an exciting evolution of the traditional mechanical wind mill, with the following advantages:

  1. It is cost affective.
  2. It uses electricity generated by wind rather than a mechanical solution.
  3. It generally delivers up to twice the water volume compared to the traditional solution.
  4. It can be placed where wind availability can be maximized and not over the bore hole as in the traditional solution.
  5. It will efficiently deliver water from a wind speed as low as 3m per second.
  6. The pump controller optimizes the available energy and therefore no other controllers are required.

A range of options are available depending on the location of the bore hole and the water volume required.

Our wind pumping system is available with a helical rotor as well as centrifugal pumps. 1kW and 3kW options are available.
